Village in the Shade PS5

A quiet home with secrets in its shadow

Village in the Shade takes you to Kagatsu, a secluded Japanese mountain village brought to life with hand-painted scenery. Build a new daily routine around your garden, the changing needs of your homestead and the people who call this place home. Grow crops, raise livestock, go fishing and gather materials for useful tools and decorations.

Turn a neglected house into your own living space, join local festivals and get to know your neighbours. Yet Kagatsu’s peaceful appearance hides strict rules and unanswered questions. Its residents have things they would rather keep quiet, adding an unsettling mystery to everyday countryside life.

This is the standard full PS5 game for one player, developed by Nippon Ichi Software and published by NIS America. It combines farming and crafting with exploration and a story about the village’s hidden side.
