Discord - a platform for communication between gamers have more than 140 million users monthly, of course the use increased sharply during the corona virus pandemic (December 2019 - 56 million December 2020 - 140 million).
After unsuccessful negotiations with Microsoft, an unexpected turnaround took place - Discord and Sony signed an agreement to implement the Discord platform as part of the PSN network!
The arrival of Discord should compensate for the disappearance of the PlayStation Communities option, where PS players could look for teammates for games. The arrival is expected at the beginning of 2022 on consoles, but also as part of the mobile PS application.
